saturday play

Thank goodness for front lawns... this is the first of two Simply red quilts... More instruction came in as I went along, and they decided on scrappy but simple, and more of a bedspread, so the top middle piece will lay directly on the top of the bed, and the big borders will go to the floor over the edge of twin size beds.

So I am just finishing the borders on this one, and then will start in on number two. the middle sections will match or be similar, but do not need to be exact. I may also go back and add a little applique here and there... These quilts are now HUGE. 72 X 96... And I am feeling like they are coming together now...

They wanted a combination between the scrappy happy quilt + The Red Matisse Quilt...
to get the above red quilt

I hope they like them!

"piece" of mind

Taking a day to be quiet and reflective.
Remembering to be mindful of where I've come from, and how far I've come.
Acknowledging what I've done, and who have helped me.
Thankful for friends and family.

May your day be peaceful ("piece" for quilters!) and beautiful.

Here's the other sweet Dear, Yvonne, Whom we (quilt bloggers) helped in the donations from the 9 patch Gather quilt.

I received the attached photos of Yvonne today. Isn't she is just precious!

We will continue to check on Yvonne periodically and will encourage her SWI to submit her adoption paperwork. I will update you on her progress whenever I receive new information.

Thank you so much for giving Yvonne the gift of a healthy heart!
